THE ROSE GOES IN THE FRONT, BIG GUY: After reading everyone's thoughts on the AFI list of best movie quotes and the list of shoulda-been-best TV quotes, I started thinking about which quotes have really seeped into my own lexicon. Because isn't that really the ultimate test of the timelessness of a quote -- the extent to which we pepper our own conversations with those bon mots that we've picked up from pop culture?
For me, it's my absolute favorite quote from a movie that's chock full of favorite quotes, Bull Durham -- "isn't that a little excessive for the Carolina League?" I throw that one around at least once a week. Perfect for nearly any occasion.
