ALSO, I JUST LIKE TYPING THE WORDS "FUNKY WINKERBEAN:" For the second time in its 35 year run, Funky Winkerbean will make a dramatic jump forward in time after today's strip. I haven't read Funky Winkerbean regularly in years (in large part because my current paper of choice lacks any comics whatsoever), but I found today's strip immensely touching nonetheless. Looking at the Wikipedia entry linked above, I'm reminded that Funky Winkerbean really has confronted a lot of very real material over the years, and done so with sensitivity and grace.
