THE "FOURTH OUT" RULE: I have played, watched, and coached a lot of baseball over the years. I learned something new yesterday when I read this article about the astounding (to me at least) "fourth out" rule.
Let's just say that if that situation had occurred during a game that I was involved in, I would have argued quite strenuously for the opposite result (and I would have been wrong).
