RAISE YOUR HOPEFUL VOICE, YOU HAVE A CHOICE: The analysts at What Not To Sing have classified all 700+ songs ever performed on American Idol based on how familiar the audience was with each prior to performance and confirmed that singing an obscure instead of well-known song doesn't make any difference in terms of your likelihood of being eliminated, but you shouldn't sing something that someone else already has performed in the show's history. Could it be that it a contestant on the edge of elimination who is desperately trying to wrench themselves back onto the ledge, from whence they are dangling by their fingers, have a belief that a song that went over before will go over well again?  How have people done on repeat songs which were songs another contestant was elminated on, or when a song leads to an elimination, is that song now radioactive?

Mmm.  People don't seem to learn.  The Whitney Houston song "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" is famous as a contestant killer, but people keep picking it.
