1) It's sad how jealous I still am about those lasers. My mom only ever let us do the plain blue sky background, because paying extra for lasers was an extravagance. 2) Having grown up with the girl second on the list, I can say this: my jealousy of her laser portrait pales in comparison to my jealousy of her NKotB sweatshirt.

This must be after my time. I have no memory of being able to choose backgrounds at all, nor any class photos coming with laser backgrounds.
