AND IN THE ELOISE SUITE. REALLY? So the CBS ad for 2.5 Men during The Amazing Race last night still said "Catch Charlie Sheen ..." and why shouldn't it? Because the capacity for outrageous behavior is something that we assume when Sheen is involved, in the same way that one can't complain about going to a Prince concert and having it not start on time.

But I couldn't help but wonder: for what straight male actor between the ages of 20-50 would it truly be shocking, at this point, to find out that he went on a coke-fueled hooker rampage?  I don't think it's a terribly long list.  Steve Carell?

  6. Oh, and Jon Hamm.

  7. what do you mean about Galifinakis? that he seems more of a stoner to you?

  8. And, honestly, at this point, I would be kinda shocked to hear it of Affleck.  He seems to have settled down with Garner and the daughters and you just don't hear about him much anymore.  Plus, half of America would nail his [delicate body part] to the wall if he did that to that sweet girl Jennifer Garner.

Paul Rudd is the first name that came to my mind too.

  10. There were quite a few rumors and rumblings about what and who he was doing on the set of "The Town."

The key phrase "straight male actor".

Sorry Amy, I don't think America cares all that much about Jennifer Garner any more.

Tom Hanks is now 54, otherwise I would have picked him. Conan?

They might not care about her NOW, but put her in the middle of a scandal like that? I dunno- it's what I picture people like my mom saying, about her, "that sweet girl."

What am I, 60?  Because I'm the one that would complain about a Prince concert not starting on me.  Or any concert, for that matter.  I bother movie theater managers about movies starting fifteen minutes later than the time printed on the tickets due to the ads (I have no objection to the ads, but the time on the ticket is the time for the movie).

I would love it if Hamm and Affleck were secretly romancing each other...  As for above guesses, Jason Segel would surprise no one who's ever seen him out on the town...  I think it's Carell for the win as most surprising...though Damon would also be a shocker.

  22. Let's just say that the rumors indicated that he was at least very interested in trading up to a younger, bustier, perkier, blonder model.

  23. Shouldn't you follow that tease with an "XOXO," Matt?  Or at least use an initial or two.

Hm.  Are you suggesting that Affleck was interesting in switching from Marvel to DC?

By the way, as to TAR, the detour challenges were great -- the LENFILM archive was great fun and, once you realized to look for words rather than images, went pretty well.  The music one was tough.

  26. Agree on both Affleck and Damon. I love Ben and Jen so much I don't even call them Bennifer 2.0. And Matt Damon married a waitress/bartender and now has 4 little girls. That is awesome.

If you ever see Jason at his local West Hollywood hotspot across the street from his house, it wouldn't be TOO surprising.  He's a lot closer to his "I Love You Man" and "Knocked Up" character than his TV roles or Forgetting Sarah Marshall roles.

Even though he's not an actor, can I add Buster Posey to the unlikely list?  How amazing/impressive does that kid seem?

I second the rumor re Affleck and Boobs Legsly.  Grumble, disappointment, grumble.

The music one was the one everyone in my family chose, because two of us are familiar with some of the songs, and one of us has a phonographic memory for music.  But the kiddo also said (showing that he's learned from ALOTT5MA's wisdom) that the cinema one would be the easier one for most teams, because it was the more telegenic task.

I was surprised that Vicki was the only one who (eventually) figured out the best way to do it (which hadn't occurred to me either):  take one song at a time.  After she did that, I was OK with them not being eliminated.  But really:  on a detour with two challenges that were both brain- rather than physical-oriented, they were bound to come in last.

Nathan Fillion, Hugh Jackman. I was going to say Ryan Reynolds, but something about him screams roid rage at times. :)
