DON'T FORGET THE LYRICS! Performers at Sunday night's Grammy Awards now look to include Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger (doing a Solomon Burke tribute for the Necrology), Barbra Streisand, Justin Bieber, Drake, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Miranda Lambert, and a several-star tribute to Aretha Franklin featuring Yolanda Adams, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride and Florence Welch (sans Machine).

This may well justify a third annual livecast here. We'll let you know.

  1. Just looking: last year, I said "I wonder if the BEPs saw this as their audition for next year's SB halftime." Maybe we need to not-do-this to prevent me from willing other bad things into happening.

You're the one who got things started?

  4. 2012 game is in Indianapolis, and based on the response to this year, I'm expecting either the return of Geezer Rock (the logical choice would be Mellencamp) or country.

And provided all remains steady, assume The Boss is already locked in for Super Bowl 2014 in the Meadowlands (with Bon Jovi as a backup choice).

Bob Dylan!! Arcade Fire and Bob Dylan on the same telecast hits my sweet spot just so.

Awards aside, the Grammy and Tony awards really get a lot out of having the performers being honored perform. How about live reenactments from TV and film from those actors at the Emmys and Oscars?

    (just kidding. sort of.)

I heard my first Arcade Fire song the other day, adn my intitial snark was that it was nice to have a David Bowie cover band find success (but seriously, I kind of liked it.)

According to Linda Holmes, Bob Dylan is playing with Dr. Dog and Mumford & Sons - two of my favorites from this past year. If ALLOT5MA doesn't do a live blog, she and Stephen Thompson (NPR music editor and a Pop Culture Happy Hour participant) are doing one on Monkey See.

While as a big fan I would love to see Mellencamp, I don't know if he's big enough? I guess if Tom Petty is . . .

If Bruce isn't going to be performing, you can still bring my eyes to the set by telling me that Bob and Arcade Fire will be.

Meanwhile, Vegas has to be taking action on whether Aguilera will butcher her Aretha tribute lyrics. And how about a prop bet on a guest appearance by Clarence Clemons for "Freeway of Love?"
