FOR US, 'TIS A LIFE OF HARD KNOCKS: Will Smith and Jay-Z are negotiating with Academy Award-winning screenwriter Emma Thompson to pen the Willow Smith-starring Annie re-remake whose casting we've previously discussed.  (Any objection to her also playing Miss Hannigan?)

  2. Better to cast Hathaway as whatshername, Rooster's girlfriend.

  3. Which would result in various people from this blog yelling at the screen about her not getting to sing more, based on my experience watching the previous iteration of Annie with my boyfriend:

The boyfriend:  How can they cast Kristin Chenowith in a music and not let her sing more?!?!?!?!?

Even the presence of Audra McDonald singing multiple songs could not stop this refrain.

Hm, while I like that your boyfriend wanted Kristin to sing more, it never bothered me (I was enjoying her acting, and I knew that was all the singing Lily gets to do).  On the other hand, she got to sing plenty in The Music Man and I didn't enjoy that half as much (proving that even with an actress/singer I like very much, Marian's songs bore me to tears, with the exception of the "If You Don't Mind My Saying" duet.

And while I'd never thought of it before (thanks, Isaac! muahahaha), NPH would probably make a great Rooster.

Can't Will find a decent musical to cast his daughter in?

  7. Are the Smiths going to remake every movie? All that money and they can't pay someone to think of an original movie concept and write a script so the little darlings can keep busy?

They'd better not even think about touching "Back to the Future" next.
