DOWN HERE IT'S JUST WINNERS AND LOSERS AND DON'T GET CAUGHT ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THAT LINE:  Let's give everyone behind The Office a ton of credit for succeeding in keeping secret the identity of the new regional manager until tonight's season premiere. Especially in the Internet era, that's a hell of a task. As for the merits of that selection, it remains to be seen, and the rest I'll leave for the comments.  (Episode as a whole: just okay, with a nice-and-I-dare-say-Scottian ending)

  1. OMG, Live Studio Audience Laughter on Whitney is killing me. Must stop watching.

As for Boss Nard Dog, I was hoping for Jim instead.  I worry that this different enough from Michael, but I guess we'll see.

Since I didn't watch it I'll just assume they went with the obvious choice and hired Catherine Tate.  There, my version is probably more awesome then reality (this may not be true).

Andy feels too much like a continuation of Michael Scott but I think his switch to the Losers Column is setting us up for another change at some point.

Nope, James Spader was hired to be the manager but convinced the CEO to make him the CEO, so he hired Andy to be the manager of the Scranton branch.

I didn't even watch it.  The laughter in the commercials threw me off.  It might be because I don't watch a lot of network TV, but it was kinda jarring.

    Rotating managers could be fun....

  8. I find it hard to believe it's meant to stick. Just didn't feel right as the new normal.

I was unsettled by "just a fat mom" Pam. I hope it's headed somewhere interesting. (Though I enjoyed the reminder of just how different actually pregnant looks from adorable-TV-pregnant.)

NBC spoiled it at 8pm by showing Andy sitting at that desk (in the quickie promo they do for what is going to be on all night).
