MISS PATTI WOULD BE THRILLED: We didn't note when ABC Family picked up the Amy Sherman-Palladino/Sutton Foster series Bunheads (likely to begin this summer), despite much interest when the pilot was announced, but we are obliged to note that Kelly Bishop has agreed to recur as Foster's character's mother-in-law, who it's safe to presume will be imperious and disapproving.

SOME of us were very excited from the get-go.

I'm still disappointed that "bunheads" isn't referring to librarians. It's SO MUCH FUN to watch librarians get in a tizzy over stereotypes. You can almost hear the knitting needles clicking with furious resolve or see the knuckles whiten as the grip tightens on a canvas tote bag. And THEN you get to watch the race to see which will show up first: a picture of a librarian derby girl or a librarian with visible tattoos. If it's your lucky day you'll hit the jackpot and get an inked derby girl librarian. Or a male in the profession who refers to himself as a "guybrarian".

On topic: I hope this news means at some point Bishop gets to show off those great gams.

I love that clip for how the way Bishop is seated makes it look like the Tony Awards are being held in someone's community hall.

I've been rewatching Gilmore Girls for the umpteenth time on Soapnet (shut up, I do NOT watch Soapnet way too much!) and it is so great. I am very very hopeful for this show.

  7. It really is. I agree with those who find the elder Gilmores to be terrible human beings, but among my favorite scenes are (1) Lorelai and Richard go to Staples; (2) Richard reads Cosmo during Rory's birthday party; (3) Emily is distressed about Richard's mustache.

If watching Gilmore Girls for the umpteenth time on Soapnet is wrong, I don't want to be right. And, well, I won't be. I mean, I'm not. Right, that is.

Time for me to watch Gilmore Girls (now that I'm a diehard Lauren Graham fan after seeing her in Parenthood).
