TWIST, AND SHOUT:  Good heavens--people are spending ridiculous amounts to bring their kids to see Nickelodeon's (Original Marina-Free) Fresh Beat Band in concert. (Non-parents: here's what you're not missing.)

  1. I don't understand why they had to replace Marina with ANOTHER Marina.  It never fools anyone (remember old Gordon and New Gordon on Seseme Street?  I'm still scarred).

Also, I mentioned to a friend that I was sure some sick Mofo wrote FBB NC-17 FanFic and SHE SENT ME A LINK.  EWWWWWW!

(FYI...let me know if you want the link)

  2. It happens on tv a lot.

As for the link, use your judgment. You know who we are by now.

Cobb Energy Center sends me emails about upcoming shows and Fresh Beat Band is the only upcoming event that's sold out. You can still get tickets for Yanni and Chaka Khan. (CHAKHA KAHN! C'mon, Atlanta, you gotta do right here and sell that place out.)  But Fresh Beat Band being sold out made me curious who/what they were, so thanks for clearing that up.

That particular "band" has completely passed me by, and I'm fine with that.

I don't mind them, the show is kind of goofy and fun and it does vaguely remind me of the kid shows of my youth.

We almost bought tix when they were first released, I decided to wait two weeks and bam, sold out.

The Nickelodeon shows are fun, I will say. We went to Yo Gabba Gabba Live! a few years ago and it was awesome. Biz Markie showed up!  All the parents were screaming.

We saw a Dora show two years ago and I thought it was very well done. In December, we saw Phineas & Ferb Live and all of us had a great time. The audience - kids and adults - went wild when Perry the Platypus came on stage. Our neighbors have tickets to one of the Baltimore FBB shows - I'll have to tell her how lucky they were to get them.

I'm raising my kids in a cave if this is what I have to look forward to.  Saw the show once and it raised every ornery, old man on the porch hair on my head.

I'm taking my sons.  They love the Fresh Beats, and I don't mind a show that embraces music and friendship and teamwork.

I set a calendar alert when they went on sale.  For a hot, delusional minute, I even had VIP tickets in my cart.  Then I came to my senses.
