IN YOUR OPINION:  With the fourth season finale just a few days away, Kate Aurthur ranks The Good Wife's top 76 recurring guest stars -- yes, 76 -- in order of awesomeness, and it's not a slideshow.

[Too low: Daddy Detective, F. Murray Abraham, Dreama Walker.  Too high: Dylan Baker. Appropriately ranked: the viral dancing lady, and the last two on the list.]

  1. I'll disagree about Scott Porter. I thought the Kalinda/Blake stuff mostly worked (even if the payoffs about Kalinda's past haven't worked)--if just for the scene with Kalinda and the baseball bat, and "strip truth"? (That said, he's much better served in his current role on Hart of Dixie, where he gets to be funny and sing!)

  2. Also, where's Morena Baccarin? Are two episodes not enough for her to be viewed as "recurring?" Because she's been great opposite Baker.

I'll say the device of saying "[blank] -- yes, [blank] -- " typically annoys -- yes, annoys -- the crap out of me because it's very rare that a single word makes me want to stop. I most always wait until I've digested a whole sentence before I go back and parse it. Here, however, having never watched the show, I was actually surprised when you said "76" so for the first -- yes, first -- time I remember this device seems well deployed.

So thank you -- yes, you.

Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few
of the images aren't loading correctly. I'm not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I've tried it in two different browsers and both show the same outcome.

  6. Several of the judges should be higher. Their use of guest stars as judges is fantastic.

  7. I'm good with the top 4, but I'd put Carrie Preston as #2. And, yes, Daddy Detective should be higher.

Agree. I might even put Carrie Preston as #1. I love her and this character that much.

I agree with most points, but I think Matthew Perry's too high after his last episode, when Peter slugs him in the bathroom and he magically turns into Chandler.
